Today, my Ocicat Yuki decided I needed help taking a shower.

Mostly what she did was roll around on the floor, play with her back foot, drag litter everywhere, knock stuff down, and jump on the toilet seat.

Found this photo on Facebook. This picture makes me smile, and reminds me so much of my beautiful Sphynx cats. I love them dearly. They brighten my every single day. All my animals do.

I want to apologize again for not getting back to comments and such the past few days - I have not been feeling my best. A new medication has been having some bad side effects on my body and mental state, so I have not been up to much posting, reading, replying - though I'm still trying to keep my blog alive.

Thanks so much to everyone for your comments of support. I promise I will get back to everything this week like I had before.

I wanted to say that I am sorry for her not replying back to comments or blogging lately. Mum's having some hard issues over here.

Not only is she is not feeling very well physically from re-occurring issues, but she's been kind of depressed and anxious, and having a hard time blogging. :-(

But she promises she will get back to everything soon!

Until then, I will try my best to cheer her up!

A lot of my friends here in the world of cat blogging also have a dog (or plural, dogs). I know I do, my pretty little Dachshund named Shelby.

Every dog is unique, no doubt. A wide variety of unique products are also available for dogs out there on the market. But often times the question is - where to look for them? Personally, I know I like to do my shopping online, so that's why I get excited when I find a great online store.

Pandora Goes Shopping

I showed you Princeton going shopping at Petsmart. And then, I showed Kite going shopping at Petsmart.

And today, I took a lovely young lady for her first trip to the Petco...

Yup! Pandora went to the Petco today!

First, she spent the entire car ride purring. When I got her out of her carrier, she proceeded to try and chew her harness off...

She was so precious in the cart, and did a very good job staying in it. She purred, walked around, and showed off her pretty little self. I also got to educate a few people on the Munchkin breed, even though we did get asked a few times if she was a Siamese mix.

By the way, you can see the tortie markings on the back of her one ear in some of these photos. She is a seal tortie point and has a big glob of red tortie colour on the back of her one ear.

There were a lot of doggies there, and I was surprised with how incredibly calm she was around them. I didn't let her get around any of the dogs, though.

There was a pair of gorgeous, friendly Goldens (an adult and a puppy). What friendly dogs those two were; I love Retrievers.

This is a pic of that Golden puppy.

I also saw two of my favourite breed of dog in that pet store ... GERMAN SHEPHERDS!

The first was the most adorable German Shepherd puppy ever. Unfortunately, I didn't get to pet it (I was keeping an eye on Pandora) and I didn't get the chance to ask the owner if I could take a picture of their dog. (Cue sad face...)

But I also met an adult shepherd, and was able to get a photo of this beauty.

Lovely, lovely breed of dog. I can't wait to have one someday. Not for a long time... but someday.

Also, there were some rescue bunnies there at the pet store! Don't know if you can see in this pic or not, I couldn't get close enough. The bunnies were so cute, though!

There were also some lovely kitties up for adoption. In fact, I got some photos of one of those cats.

This boy is Edmund, and he needs a home! He is 10 months old, roughly, and is a domestic shorthair. He is a sweet, cuddly lovebug who loves people. He is currently at the York SPCA in York, Pennsylvania. I don't know if he's listed on the Petfinder site, but if you were interested in him and contacted the SPCA, you could ask about him by name.

Cat owners, let's be honest - sometimes we run into behavioral issues with our cats, especially when it comes to using the litter-box. No one likes it when our beloved furry family members don't use the box, and no one especially likes the smell of cat pee.

As someone who's had a lot of boys - and a lot of intact boys - I know I've dealt with my fair share of cat litter box issues. It's not a fun issue, not at all. The worst time we ever dealt with it was not with an un-neutered male, however, but with a rescue cat we had when I was very young. She was a barn cat turned indoor cat, and had issues her entire life with not using her litterbox.

And every year, many frustrated pet owners surrender their cats to shelters because of this very same problem. I once even heard a story of a woman who had her cat put down because he sprayed in her house.

RightPet.com is a site created to help those seeking their purrfect pet. The site is based off of a system of user reviews (anyone can submit if they become registered) both done through a rating system, and written report of that user's experience with the type of animal/breed of animal.

They have a wealth of information about:

I would highly recommend this site first and foremost to those hoping to gain more knowledge about a breed they would potentially be interested in since most of the reviews are done by actual owners. I thank the owner of RightPet.com for allowing me to do a review of their lovely site!

Back in December, things got really busy, and I didn't get a chance to really see a friend of mine around the holidays when I wanted to. Yesterday I did, it turns out there was Christmas presents I didn't get to pick up, and this is so damn cool.

The Park Was a Bust

Hello everyone, Kat here.

I apologize for missing Valentine's Day wishes, seeing as how it's been an INSANE day. Doctors appointment on Valentine's Day (routine, nothing out of the ordinary), new eyeglass, school, etc. - blogging gets put on the back burner. But I'm here now.

To anyone and everyone who I missed saying it to - Happy Valentine's Day!

Now, on with the post.

On Monday, I decided I was going to take Shelby, my Dachshund, to the park.

So I got her in the van, and drove off.

When we got to the park, I realized there was hardly anyone there at all. It was then I realized - DUH - it was totally not a day for the park!

Not only was the wind so strong it was blowing the van about, but it was freezing outside, and there was snow on the ground.

We may have had the park to ourselves for a while, but I wondered - why didn't we just take a walk around in the backyard??

Shelby had fun, though, and seemed so excited. Therefore, I couldn't just leave. I walked her around for a little while and snapped some shots.

Then, I began to feel creeped out and since I've encountered actual creeps in the park before, Shelby and I got back into the van. She was ready and willing to jump into the vehicle, guess she was cold, too.

We drove home, and of course my parents laughed at me for going away on such a cold day. Oh well. At least we had a little adventure.

Here's a photo I tried to take of me and Shelby, it didn't work out very well, as you can barely see her (or me that great).

And a pic that displays my ever growing hair... I plan to cut it and donate for Locks For Love when it gets long enough.

10 Facts About The Munchkin Breed

Searching around online, I've seen a lot of inaccurate articles, lists, and statements about the Munchkin breed. Being involved with and a lover of the breed for many years, I feel I should help educate about them.

Here's my starting point.

10 Facts About The Munchkin Breed

# 1 - Munchkins are a Dwarf breed of feline, and considered to be like the Corgi of Cat breeds. They've also been compared to the Dachshund, even though they only have short legs, and not elongated spines. The gene that causes the short legs is a naturally occurring mutation, and not a defect that was engineered by man.

# 2 - Not all Munchkins are born short-legged. Even when two shorts are bred together, they can produce offspring without the dwarfism gene, and these kittens are referred to as non-standard or 'long legged' Munchkins. They have the same head type, body type, and loving personality the Munchkin breed is known for.

# 3 - Long-legged Munchkins do not carry the short-legged gene, and two long-legs bred together cannot make a short legged kitten. The gene is dominant, meaning one of the parents must have short legs to make short legged offspring.

# 4 - Not only do Munchkins come in both short and long-haired varieties (the short-hairs having a very plush type coat), but they also come in any possible coat colour/pattern, and any eye colour.

# 5 - The Munchkin cat is not supposed to resemble a miniature version of any other breed.

# 6 - One statement I hear all the time from those who don't know the breed is, "Oh, I bet they can't climb and jump." Anyone who has ever owned a Munchkin can attest to the fact that they most certainly can! They can jump, run, and climb most of what our cats with 'normal' legs can. Their short legs certainly do not hold them back.

# 7 - Surprising to some - the Munchkins that first helped the breed as we know it get it's start were found as stray, pregnant cats under a school teacher's vehicle in Louisiana in the 1980's. Though cats with short legs had been spotted numerous times across the globe before that, it was from the lines of the two Louisiana strays that the modern Munchkin breed has descended.

# 8 - Unlike Dachshunds, and Basset Hound dogs, Munchkin cats do not have spinal issues associated with the breed. This is due to the fact that they only have short legs, and not elongated spines. Studies have been done on the breed, and no evidence can be found that the Munchkins have spinal issues associated with the Dwarfism.

# 9 - Despite having short legs, Munchkins are not supposed to be tiny cats, nor 'teacups'. The TICA standard generally calls for the Munchkin to be a normal sized cat on shortlegs.

# 10 - After years of developing and observing the genetics of the breed, The International Cat Association (TICA) accepted the Munchkins into Championship as of May 2003. TICA is one of few organizations that recognize the Munchkin, as organizations such as The Cat Fancier's Association (CFA), The American Cat Fancier's Association (ACFA), and Fédération Internationale Féline (FIFe), to name a few, do not accept the breed. The breed is recognized by other organizations, though, like The American Association of Cat Enthusiasts (AACE), and a few foreign organizations.

The Dreaded Bath!

Kite the Sphynx queen here - I got a BATH, ear cleaning and the whole nine yards. What is with humans? Mummy says that, "Sphynx need to be bathed more often than regular cats, to keep them clean".

WHAT-EVER!

At least I got a nice warm towel and got to cuddle with mummy.

But I forgave her. I love my mummy. Can't hold a grudge about bathing against her forever - right? Oh boy. Should I tell Princeton that mummy is gonna bathe him later? Hehehe... That'll be my secret to keep!

Low to the ground

About a month ago, I told you about Pandora's brother Squeak going to his new home. Recently, I got some lovely updated photos of him taken by his new owner.

Thanks to Irisa from Junglecove Bengals and Munchkins for these wonderful new pics of Squeak. I always love to see how they're doing.

By the way, Squeak is a seal lynx marble standard Munchkin kitten. He is the brother of my sweetheart Pandora.

Speaking of kittens, back at Meet The Breeds (this post) I told you about Munchkin girl Cherrytree going to her new family. She was from an older litter, back in 2011, and one of my favourite kittens that we ever had here.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Cherry is back. Here is new pics I've taken of this lovely girl. What a sweetheart she really is.

Jump for the stars

A short post today.

As you remember from an older post, I decided to start training my Sphynx, Princeton, primarily for feline agility.

Today, I began training him with a jump. I made the jump small so he couldn't just go under it, and used a treat to lure him back and forth over it. Seeing as how he's a kitten with a short attention span, it was a short training session. Short, but fun!

Like always, Princeton picks up very quickly.

(Sorry for how the kitchen floor looks in the pics, the lighting was really weird)

(If you're wondering, that's my show girl Hope and my mother's stud male Jake. They're both purebred Munchkins. This will be Hope's first litter. Stay tuned for more updates on these developments...)

Hoping for some lovely show babies from this litter. :-)
And yes, there will be plenty of kitten pics in the future.

BTW, Jake is also the daddy of Pandora, but this is his last litter before being retired. He's a lovely boy.

Tuxedo Thursday

Hello, guys. It's Princeton, the handsome tuxie nude dude.

Aren't I looking exceptionally handsome? Ladies, feel free to swoon. No autographs, sorry, I have no thumbs. Anyway, I had an unpleasent adventure.

I have never been outside in my life except for being transported from the house to the car or the car to the pet store/vet, etc. Mummy wants me to be an inside cat, but she thought she would take me out to the porch ledge to take some pics of me in natural light.

Do I look scared?? I am - the wind started blowing when we were out there!!

I'd never been outside before, and never felt wind!! I cried, and jumped on my mummy's shoulder. Since I'm a big boy, I clawed her up. Poor mummy, I was just scared!

She was understanding, though. She brought me in and said no more outside on windy days for Princeton.

I stood and stared out at the wind for a minute or so. You can't tell in the photo, but my legs are quivering. That wind was dang scary!!! Glad my mummy saved me.

Then she took me to our favourite photoshoot place - Grandmama's bed! (Mum's favourite place to take photos). And grandmama's bed is so comfy. I sleep there with Grandmama sometimes.

Ticked off Tabby Tuesday

Hello everyone, Yuki here, and I was a bit ticked off today. Since I am a SPOTTED tabby, I figured this can be a tabby tuesday post - right?

Anyway, I was napping and watching out the kitchen doors before mummy disturbed me with the light box. She forgot the flash was on at first. All would've been forgiven and I would've let her take the pics, but her brother started making noise in the other room. After that I was just not in the mood for a photo shoot, and kept trying to walk away from the camera box.

So mummy laughed and put me on Grandmama's bed, thinking I'd be comfy and maybe look not so annoyed. Well, she was wrong! I just didn't want no pics taken, even though I was purring on Grandmama's bed.

Then, I hid my head under a blanket. Mummy laughed and said "Yuki's done with photos today."

I was done from the start!!

Sphynx and Mummy

Hello everyone - Kite the Sphynx queen here.

I wanted to share some pics of me and my mummy that we took together. Well, she took, because I don't have thumbs to work the camera.

Me and mum is pretty ladies. I love her. Yes, she does clip my claws and bathe me, but we also snuggle up next to eachother every night. I find her very useful in a human type way, of course.

(Plus, she feeds me!!! Gotta love that quality in a human)

These photos are actually from about two weeks ago, and mum forgot about them!!

She been sick lately, so she don't look that attractive. She's in her PJ's a lot, with tissues and complaining. Humans don't look comfortable when they get colds and get sick. Poor mummy.

Learning a trick

Hello everyone, Little Man (Princeton) here.

Well, mummy has decided that she'd like to teach me kitty agility to keep me fit (Cause supposedly Sphynx are 'gluttons'!) and to keep me busy and something about bonding with me.

Whatever, just gimme the treat!

Mummy decided to break me into training, she will start with a little chair trick, aka, lining three chairs up and teaching me how to run across them.

At first I didn't know what I was supposed to do. But she used a treat to get me slowly from one chair to another. Eventually, I just followed her hand, knowing she'd give me the dang treat!

Mummy called me a "smart boy". Well, DUH, I already knew that!!

By the way, here's a video of me doin' my thing!

Look for mummy training me agility more and more - we will have fun! As long as I get more yummy treats!!

This past weekend, we were in New Jersey for a two day TICA show. This is our show post - not just including our cats, but I tried to get as many pics of as many cats in the hall as humanely possible. From Somalis, to Munchkins, to Ocicats, to tons and tons of Bengals, I've captured as much as I can.

So sit back and enjoy! Note, post is picture heavy.

This past weekend, I showed my Munchkin Hope, aka Triple Grand Champion Element's High Hopes.

And also, I took my Sphynx Kite along, even though she wasn't showing. Though my father was taking care of the rest of the cats at home, I know Kite loves to travel with me.

My mother (who went with me) took three cats: Penny (tortie Laperm), Onyx (ebony silver Ocicat, and Jonah (chocolate Ocicat). I have blogged about Penny, Onyx, and Jonah before on this blog (click their highlighted names to see), as I blog about more than just my own cats from time to time.

Though we didn't receive any finals at this show, Hope did get a few Best of Breeds, and that certainly helps when going for her next titles.

Onto the curly girl, Penny, my mother's Laperm.

It's interesting to note the Laperm is actually considered a rare breed. There is only one time we have ever seen them before, and that from a CFA show that we went to about 4 years ago. Mother met a Laperm there and fell in love. Now, she hopes to promote the breed and better raise awareness about it.

As you can tell, the first photo below is an educational little board we took along about the Laperm breed.

Time to move on!

Now as you may now, at shows I like to go around and take as many pictures of as many breeds as I possibly can.

First, let's start with the other Munchkins that were in the hall (besides Hope).

Above, is Sam from 4EverPaws with two of her Munchkins - Trinity and Aurora - all dressed up. Below are more photos of Munchkins from 4EverPaws/Rugrunners.

There was another Munchkin there named Max, and below is a photo of him dressed in his halloween costume!

One breed that I may have gotten more photos of then any other (besides the Munchkins, of course) is the Bengals.

Bengals are a lovely exotic breed, crossed with the Asian Leopard Cat to get that look that they are famous for.

Something I new I met at this show was two longhaired Bengals. Never before had I seen the longhaired version of them, but I found them rather beautiful.

Below are the two longhaired Bengals - a brown marbled kitten, and a snow spotted adult.

Another lovely spotted exotic breed that I saw at the show... two Savannahs! I don't see them often at shows.

Savannahs are a cross between domestic cats and the African Serval.

Yet another spotted breed (but not part wild) is the Egyptian Mau. One of those was benched right across from us, and he was certainly a lovely gentleman!

Another cat benched near us is actually a celebrity of sort! This Persian was Gizmo from Animal Planet's "Too Cute Kittens" (you can see a video clip here!).

Gizmo, now Sapphire, is all grown up!

Another Persian/Himalayan I saw was this handsome flame point boy.

Gizmo is not the only recognizable cat that I met this weekend.

I also saw the little torbie Scottish Fold that I met in NYC in November, at Meet The Breeds (my cat photos from meet the breeds 2011 can be found here).

Scottish Folds are a breed with folded down ears, and some even say they resemble dogs.

Another interesting breed with a notable mutation is the Japanese Bobtail. I've seen this lovely cat at a few shows now, nice little boy.

Another breed represented at the show was another curly coated one - the Selkirk Rex!

Though I see the Selkirks at most every show (and laperm everyday because of my mother owning one), there is one curly breed I haven't seen a lot of at shows lately, and that is the Cornish rex.

They are an oriental type curly-coated breed.

And speaking of Oriental breeds, I did happen to get a nice shot of a lovely young Oriental shorthair on the table.

And continuing that train of thought, I took photos of yet another Oriental type breed on the table - a favourite of mine, the Peterbald.

The Peterbald is a Russian breed that is generally hairless, and that has an Oriental body type.

They are similar to Sphynx, yet, have many noticeable differences.

Yet, the Peterbald was not the only baldie I saw.

I also saw a Sphynx, in the show cage.

And then, a little Sphynx girl on a table! Just look at those wonderful, huge ears.

This may have fit better up with the Persian section, but I also encountered the sight of two exotic shorthairs. For those who don't know, Exotic Shorthairs are essentially shorthaired Persians.

First, this lovely young brown tabby exotic...

And then this handsome bi-colour.

As always, one of America's favourites, the Maine Coon!

This handsome boy, featured better at 4EverPaws, is a huge Maine Coon boy. He's as handsome as he is hairy, and had a wonderful show.

Seeing as how Maine Coons seem to be a very popular TICA breed, it is not uncommon to encounter many of them.

Then, I happened to see two lovely, young Maine Coon kitten girls!

Around the corner from the Maine Coons, was a lovely Abyssinian laying in his hammock.

I also had the privilege of seeing a good number of Somalis at this show. Somalis are very much related to Abyssinians, in the way that the Somali breed began as Aby kittens that popped up longhaired.

This was a gorgeous Cinnamon silver Somali dude, just chillin' out.

A few rows down, were two lovely Somali girls. One, a blue adult, watching over her little fawn kitten sister.

A lovely breed that vaguely reminds me of the Abyssinian - the Singapura.

----

The Snowshoe (a breed that originated from the Siamese) is stunning, in my opinion, and I saw an absolutely gorgeous one at this show. A lovely male - well, what do you think?? His colour reminds me of my Pandora.

Being a lover of the French language, I also appreciate the French cats, the Chartreux breed. They are a lovely, blue cat.

I have seen that nice blue cat at a few shows now, including this cute little Havana, that I remember seeing at the Christmas City Cat Show.

Walking through the aisles of the show hall, I saw this lovely boy! He is a Norwegian Forest Cat, and his name is Harry Potter. He's just taking a snooze.

While we're talking Norwegians, I also did come along a lovely little bunch of Norwegian kittens, looking sweet as ever!

As not everyone is aware, TICA shows are not just for purebred cats. No, not at all!

The Household Pet and Household Pet Kitten classes are for your Heinz 57's, domestics, rescues, etc. and purebreds that have disqualifying faults or other features that don't allow them to show in the other classes.

Here are a few lovely household pets dressed up in their Halloween Costumes.

At this show, a lovely rescue group had brought in homeless pets and shown them in the household pet class, in order to try and promote finding homes for them.

By the way - if you wondering by now what all the Halloween decorations are, or why some kitties were dressed up - yes, this was a January Halloween show!

Back to the Furrsonality gang, to wrap this post up...

My mother, our cats and I spent the night in a hotel. Kite and Hope have both been in hotels before, yet are they better behaved in hotels then us humans? At least they didn't splurge on Dominoes pizza!

The next day at the show, Hope and Kite were very, very happy to get new toys from some wonderful people over at Galileo's Organic Catnip Toys! What amazing people they are!! They are starting up a new site soon, and we will be posting links on our sidebar to them.

They gave Hope and Kite new catnip toys. While I didn't get any pics of Kite with her new toy, I did get some of Hope with hers.

And at the end of the show, they even gave Hope some nip to calm her nerves while the cages were being torn down.

This was such a fun show. I wanna say thanks to the club, and to the other exhibitors, for allowing me to take pics of your gorgeous cats!!

To everyone out there - thank you for letting me bring the cat show to your computers, even if you couldn't be there in person. I enjoy the photography so much. :-)

I GOT A BATH!

Bleh! I hates baths. But mummy said I needs a bath for the show this weekend in New Jersey. We leave tomorrow at 5 AM, and wow it'll be an early, dark car ride.

Thankfully, I'll be dry by then.

Trouble Thursday

From time to time, my mother and I get photos and updates from the owners of kittens that we have placed. But never before had we gotten anything like this...

MUGS!!! How awesome!

The lady who sent these mugs has two Munchkin kittens from us - Charlie Jr. and Sebastion. These two mugs have photos of the kittens together.

This is so incredibly cool, and these literally are some of the most awesome things I've ever seen.

Today, my mother also received a photo of the two boys getting into some characteristic Munchkin trouble...

I love when our kittens go to wonderful homes and they love them just as much as we do. <3

Hello everyone, Shelby here. Guess what? It snowed...

See? This is me here, in the snow, with a little snow beard.

I doesn't like the cold snow. Though I do like running around, so it's confusing just a bit.

I miss the ground when there was no snow.

Here's photos from a few days ago - we got out the agility tunnel, and we were practicing running through it. I love the tunnel. And I love no snow!

The bald kitty, Kite, is lucky. She gets to be all lazey all day long in a nice warm mummy's bed.

Bleh. Kitties has it too easy.

She has a new blog, all about music. She just got it started and is 'still finding her voice' as far as what to write about, but you should check it out and follow her. It would make her really happy and if she had a tail, she'd wag it. My One Sane Note (human's new blog)

Hey everyone, Kite is here! I'm gonna let you know - Princeton is not the only one that likes shopping

The other day, mummy woke me up and put a collar on me when I was still sleepy. Well, at first I was like... what the heck?

Then we gots in the car and went on a trip. I loves car rides.

When we got there, I was so excited to see we were at the pet store!

I like to ride around in the cart at the store and pick out my own toys and such.

Notice how I look ticked off in the last pic?

That's because what mummy's friends showed up. Miss Samantha and her Munchkin kitty, Trinity. The human I don't mind, but I don't like strange kitties!

Mummy likes Trinity, calls her a 'cool kitty' and 'very friendly'. As you can see in the first pic, Trin doesn't mind being held like a baby, and she purs the whole time.

But I does not like other strange kitties! See from my face??

So I hissed. I think I got my point across.

Afterwards, mummy and I got in the car. I crawled up on the dash...

I wanted to be a GPS navigator!

But mummy said no. She placed my blanket down on the passenger's seat and when I saw it, I crawled over onto the seat. I sat there the entire drive home, calm and sleeping.

Mummy's camera died after that, but we made a stop at McDonald's. The McDonald's lady said I was so cool, and when mummy got ice cream, I stole some of it. I like ice cream soooo much, but mummy says not too much of it because Sphynx kitties has sensitive tummies.

Damn.

Hello everyone, this is Shelby the woofie here.

I has been having so much fun.

As you can see, mummy set up a very small jump on a rainy day, and we have been doing a bit of agility practice. Mum said I can only do a little at a time to build my strength up again, but I don't wanna quit! I love running and jumping and being a bouncy little girl.

Mummy always says "The vet said to take it slow"

How about Shelby says..... I don't like the vet! I like jumping, and barking, and cheesy treats. Yummm, cheeeeeeeeese. What was I saying? Oh yes, here's another picture. I look so determined.

Hello, everyone - Princeton here.

The other day, mummy done took me to the Petsmart.

I like going places and riding in the car - it's lots of fun! Riding around in the carts at the store is fun, too, and I get to pick out my own toys!!!!

There was another kitty on a leash that day - a pretty tortie girl! I thought she was a cutie ;-)

The same people had a German Shepherd dog (and mummy was gaga over it, she loves shepherds!). The dog was a big, smelly thing, so I gave it an evil look.

I think it got the message.

And as you can see, my eye is all better, yay!!!

Our Updates

Hello, Kat here again. I have plenty of pics and updates I wanted to share, so I plan to do it all in one post.

Let's get started!

First of all, thanks to everyone who's purred for Princeton because of his eye. With his special drops, he's made a very speedy recovery and his eye looks almost completely better. I am very glad that my little nude dude is going to be okay!

Next, I wanted to share new photos I took of Pandora, and her brother Squeak before he left for his new home.

Pandora, first.

Pandora is 4 months old. It's so hard to believe this little, wonderful girl is growing up right before my very eyes. First Kite and Yuki grew up way too fast. Princeton keeps growing in leaps and bounds. I love to watch them grow into the beautiful cats they are.

Who has also grown is her brother Squeak (formerly known as Baxter). Squeak left to go to his new home after these photos were taken. He is now living in Ohio and is going to be a show cat! We are very excited about this.

Isn't he just a lovely boy? I'm a huge fan of lynx point cats.

Moving on...

I wanted to let everyone know that so far Shelby's new exercise routine is going well. Since she is very active and full of life, she is very happy. I am very happy she hasn't been having any trouble, and so is my vet.

Yesterday, I got a picture of her when we went outside to play Frisbee (one of her favourite activities).

"Mum, I wanna go outside really bad!! Let's play!"

"Gimme that Frisbee, it's mine!!"

And last but not least, I got my first Sphynx window pic of the year. And Kite does not look too happy that I am invading her window time!

But I has more than mummy's blankets and mummy to cuddle up with.

I have a cuddle buddy, and his name is Charlie.

Mummy is lucky she has Charlie and I to cuddle every night!

Hello, everyone - Kat here. Today, is a post about my darling Shelby dog.

As some of you may know, Shelby had a back problem a while back. She had to be taken to the vet, have injections, and then had pills she had to take. I've also been supplementing her, and I'm quite impressed with how quickly she's healed.

Looking back, I think I know where things went wrong. Shelby, in her younger days, was one of the most active dogs I knew. Despite being a small breed dog, she used to do agility, swimming, backpacking, etc. Sometimes, her and I would walk 2 miles in a day, and she'd still keep going on her own will.

As of the past two years, we got lazey. I had family issues, school issues, issues with going to the hospital, etc. and agility and dog training got put on the back burner. And with Shelby not being in shape like she used to be, she had a day where she was particularly hyper and all over the place. She appeared injured the next day, and I feel like it was my fault.

Since she's seemed to recover from her injury, Im keeping her on supplements, working with my vet, and slowly placing her back into an exercise routine that's better for her, and trying to get her more active again. Carefully and gradually, of course.

Shelby was so happy to see her old jumping hoop again, and very eager to work with me.

Little Man

Yesterday, I looked at my Sphynx boy, Princeton, to see what looked like a scratch on his eye. It's not uncommon for a cat to scratch another in the eye, but I wanted to get him anti-biotics for it right away.

I took him to the vet yesterday, and the vet says it wasn't a scratch, but it looked like he ran into something, because it's bleeding from behind. Either way, it doesn't look very pleasant, but the vet says it's really not that bad. I do trust my vet very much. He's given me drops for Princeton (and boy does he hate when I put them in!) and hopefully he will be okay soon! Either way, please say a prayer for my little man that his eye heals soon - I imagine it is irritating!

These things happen. It sucks, but just have to give him his drops and wait for it to heal. Will keep updated.

Hello everyone - Kat here, and I'm back to blogging after the New year!

The other day, the first of Pandora's siblings left to go to their new home. Her long-legged sister, Amelia, went to her new family, and they just love her. I love to see kittens be placed in loving homes.

I had a new little photoshoot, and took some shots of Pandora and her three brothers.

First, my beautiful Pandora girl. For those that don't know, Pandora is a seal tortie point and white standard Munchkin female, my up and coming show baby, and just a beautiful little kitten that melts my heart every day.

A lot of people wonder what I mean when I say Pandora is a 'seal tortie point'. She has the red tortie gene in her colouring. See how the colour on her tail and face is a little splotchy? That's the tortieshell colour coming in her coat.

Also, she has a tortie spot on the back of her ear:

While that does look like skin from afar, looking closer, you can see that is the colour on her fur, and it is lighter. That is the tortie gene. I think her little splotch on the back of her ear is adorable.

Continuing with the pics...

This is her seal point brother, Roger. Roger is a sweet little guy.

Then, Buster. Buster is a little more laid back. He's a seal lynx point and white.

Buster wasn't too thrilled with the photohgraphy lights, as you can see.

Then last, is Squeak. Squeak (formerly Baxter) is a wonderful little boy that is going to a friend of ours to be a showcat, like his sister, Pandora! He is a seal, classic tabby lynx boy.

While I was at it, I decided to snap a photo of my mother's Laperm kitten, Penny. Since I find Penny fascinating, I like to share pictures of her. My mum waited about 4 years for a Laperm, and she is positively thrilled with little Penny. She is the sweetest little curly girl, loves to play, loves to purr, and loves to get into trouble all the time!

Our Christmas

Hello, friends!

Kat here.

I know I haven't posted in a while, but Christmas stuff has taken up a lot of my time. A day or two before Christmas, I tried to say Merry Christmas to as many of my friends in the CatBlogosphere as possible. If I missed a few, I wish you Merry Christmas all the same!

Our Christmas was very good this year. Full of friends, family, and good food.

I did buy presents for the Furrsonality gang, as you can see. (It wouldn't Christmas if my animals weren't in on it! They always have been.)

There are a few toys missing from this pic, but thats because they already shredded/ate them (hey, at least they're having a good time!)

Kite doesn't normally like toys...

But she seemed to like the feather toy!

Shelby loves things to chew (she is wet in the photo, because she just had a bath)

Everyone loves their gifts to play with, chew, chase, etc.

One thing I received for Christmas was animal/pet oriented.... something I have been waiting for for quite a while, now...

The Sims 3: Pets, expansion pack!! WOOHOO!!

My mother said "Now she can have as many animals as she wants. and no vet bills".

Of course, I started making an abundance of German Shepherds and horses on the game (two things Im not allowed to have in real life, as of current). What a fun and awesome virtual pet game!!

This Christmas, I also accidentally discovered that Kite likes peanut butter brownies. While this wasn't an intentional discovery, I found it funny that a cat has a fancy for such a food.

Well, New Years is coming up. If anyone knows, New Years is my favourite Holiday ever. So I wish everyone a Happy New Years!!

Hello, everyone, Kat here again.

Today, I decided to take photos of my gorgeous Ocicat, Yuki.

Yuki's favourite place in the world is anywhere where the sun is beaming in. She can almost always be found in a windowsil.

I did try to take a photo of Yuki with the Christmas tree hat for a holiday photo (I already got photos of Kite and Princeton with it on their heads), but that didn't work out well. She didn't wanna keep it on her head...

Yeaaa, what happened was she turned her muzzle right down under it. Oh well!

I will be forever thankful to my mother for this beautiful cat, and so glad she's entrusted me with her.

The Sphynx is a Christmas elf?

Hello everyone, Kat here. I was debating on writing this post myself or letting Kite write it, but in the end decided I wanted to write it because I had some things to say.

I decided to dress my Kite girl up again.

Though people have many varying opinions on dressing up your pets, the subject of dressing up Sphynx is different, I believe. They don't have fur, and they can't keep warm as easily as a cat with fur. I know many owners who dress their naked cats frequently to keep them warm.

Kite has been dressing up since she was a kitten at her breeder's house, and I'm surprised with how calm she is to let me dress her. She's also very calm to bathe her, will sit on my lap for hours, and will obey some commands, even. If it's cold out and I put her in a sweater, she will leave it on.

I love my calm, sweet, loving Sphynx girl.

Anyway, onwards with the pictures!

I put her in a cute little green shirt, that says "What happens at the North Pole, stays at the North Pole!"

And then, came the Christmas tree hat. Kite is the only pet of mine that will leave a hat on her head for me to take good pictures!

Isn't she adorable?

Kite has a tendency to look mad in her photos. I figure it's because of the shape of her face, and that it makes her look grumpy in photos. So I took a video of how sweet my loving girl can be.

I really love this cat. Though I love all my cats, Kite has touched my life in a special way that no other cat has before. I don't know what I would do without her. I will forever be grateful that this beautiful girl came into my life and changed it.

Hello, everyone, Princeton here. As you can tell, the human decided to dress me again.

She says the sweater looks festive and holiday-like. I think it's bleh. I prefer to be a naked boy.

But it only got worse.

In the spirit of the season (or whatever), mummy decided to put the Christmas tree hat on my head...

I don't like that dumb Christmas tree hat, especially since it's too big for my head.

See? The tree part falls right over! Nice choice, mum!

I took it off and just stuck with the sweater.

I'm getting to be such a big boy (and even more handsome by the day, if I do say so myself!!). Mummy says she is so proud of me everyday, and always tells me she loves me! I love her, too, even if she puts dumb sweaters on me from time to time.

So, Christmas is here soon, and I wanna say I wish a Merry Christmas to everyone!

(By the way, I wasn't really mad in the pictures - I was purring the whole time! Did I forget to say that? Yea, I don't really mind being dressed up!)

Also, wanted to share a video of me and Kite. She acts like she doesn't like me, but I know deep down inside that she's crazey for me. Yea, all the ladies love me!

As everyone knows, I don't always just post photos of my own critters here. In fact, the other day I snapped some cute shots of two of my mother's cats curled up on her lap. I just have to share these.

These two have been featured on the blog before - Delilah, the big fat Ocicat queen, and Penny, my mum's new Laperm kitten.

Despite being more than old enough to leave her mummy, Penny seems quite taken and attached to Delilah, and will even nurse off of her.

'Santa' brought a woofie

Six years ago, 'Santa' brought me a woofie puppy for Christmas - my darling Shelby.

Okay, technically the Children's myth of Santa (red, jolly, beard, etc.) didn't bring me anything; I was thirteen years old and stereotypical Santa Claus had already been outed by my mother at that point. But some loving force in this universe caused me to cross paths with a beautiful dog that has changed my life the past few years.

I had finally saved enough for her, and purchased Shelby within a week of Christmas. I hadn't planned it that way, but thats the time she ended up coming into my life. Looking back, I came to consider her a gift to myself, in a way.

Ever since, I've always thought of her as my special Christmas puppy.

It's been wonderful having Shelby for six Christmases now, and I hope she will be around for many more!

Mummy laughed, because I was cold that morning. I was so chilly that my body was under mummy's blankets, and just my head was stuck out to snuggle on Charlie-bear.

Christmas Wrinkles

Yup, a Christmas bow on my head...

Don't get me wrong, I love my human mummy. But why must I be dressed as a present?

At least the human put the Santa hat on Princeton this time...

He had just gotten a bath, one of many indignities us kitties face.

He told me to say that in that photo he is waving to all the 'cute girl kitties'. What an ego he has!

Kittens and Christmas

Well, yesterday we had a Christmas themed kitten photo shoot. It was lots of fun, especially with my baby girl Pandora. This has to be one of my favourite cat photoshoots that we've ever done!

First, I decided to test everything out by taking a few pics of my Sphynx girl, Kite.
She was the only adult that I took pictures of on this setup, because I was wary of any of my other bigger kitties (Yuki, Hope and even Princeton) that they would cause chaos and take the table down.
Kite was very calm for me, but didn't look very happy...

You see, Kite hates arranged photoshoots. She is a sweet girl and doesn't mind being photographed when she's just doin' her thing. But she detests being put on the spot for pics.
She especially didn't like the red and green collar I put on her to try and induce the holiday spirit.

First, she just showed me her bum...

Then, I got her to turn around, but she still didn't look pleased.

After a while, I finally got some pics that gave off the illusion she was in a better mood.

After that, I let her go off and do her own thing, and gave her enough treats to try and make up for imposing the photoshoot on her. (And the collar)

Next, I got some shots of Pandora's brothers and long legged sister.

And then, photos of the gorgeous and lovely Pandora herself.

I feel so blessed to have her (and all my beauties!) in my life. They're all miracles.

During the shoot, Pandora lived up to her name of "Dora The Destroyer"...

And now, I wanna share something new with you. This is not my kitty, but my mother's new kitten, Penny.
I took pictures of her for my mother, and she's just one of the most adorable things ever!

But Penny is of a rare and fascinating breed ... she is a Laperm.
You see, mother met a Laperm cat at a show 4 years ago and fell in love. Now, she finally has one. Penny has a curly coat, much like a poodle dog. She also has curly whiskers.

Though she isn't mine, I find her so utterly fascinating and wonderful that I just had to share her here at Furrsonality.

Christmas City Cat Show!

What a wonderful show we had this past Saturday! How I can't wait to share it with everyone here :)

This past Saturday, I attended a show in Easton, PA put on by the Christmas City TICA club. I took my Sphynx kitten, Princeton, and my Munchkin female Hope to this show, and we had some awesome success this weekend. I am counting this as one of my Christmas posts and tagging it with 'Holiday', by the way, because it was the Christmas City show, and there was Christmas decorations all around.

My biggest announcement is that Elements High Hopes is now not only a Double Grand Champion, but a Triple Grand Champion! I am so proud of my little Hope!

Hope got three finals at this show, and Princeton got three finals too! Since this was his first show, I was very glad for this! His next show, he will be in the Alter class instead of kitten class, and will be able to earn titles such as champion, and so on.

Now, unlike any of my other show photoshoots, I didn't just take photos of my own cats this show. I took plenty of photos for my friends in the Catblogosphere to enjoy (you guys are the absolute best!). I am so happy to be able to take and share photos of the wonderful joy of cat shows. There are few places I'd rather be in the world then in the show hall.

First I'll showcase Princeton and Hope, then onto the other kitties.

This is Princeton and I, when he was sitting like a little angel in my lap.

The glove on my hand was so that I could handle him without getting hand oils all over him.

Here's some of the pics I took at the benching area. The benching area is where we have our own personal cages for while we're waiting to be judged. We can decorate them as we want. Little man is reaching his paws out in some of the pics to get a feather toy I have.

I was so happy with how Princeton did on the table. He behaved himself well and seemed to really enjoy the show!

Hope did fantastic, too!

And now, onto other kitties that were there at the show.

I didn't get a chance to take photos of every cat or even every breed, but I will post here what I did take!

By the way, if you have a favourite breed you'd like me to take pics of next time I go to a cat show, tell me in the comments box.

Anyway...

There were two other Munchkins in the class with Hope, both owned by friends of mine.

Here is another beautiful of that last girl; isn't she gorgeous?

There were also three other beautiful Sphynx showing in the kitten class with Princeton, too. In fact, the whole kitten class was made up of some gorgeous kittens!

In the kitten class, I encountered a stunning, classic tabby Oriental shorthair. I had taken quite a few pics of the little beauty, and wanted to share two of them here.

Also in the kitten class, is one of the cutest little Pixiebobs I've ever seen! Look at that cute little stump of a tail on this feline...

After that, I snapped a pic of a quite beautiful little Selkirk Rex. They have curly coats, like a Laperm cat.

A friend of mine also got a cute little Selkirk recently that she had at the show...

Isn't she such a pretty Selkirk??

Anyways, onward with the kitten class...
There were two Singapura kittens in the ring, and they were so hyperactive and adorable!

After that was a lovely little Snowshoe.

After that, the Sphynx were up and when they were finished I headed to the adult ring to show Hope again.

This is a gorgeous Burmese I encountered in the adult class.

Followed by a lovely blue Chartreux.

After that I saw a spotted breed that I haven't seen in a while - the Egyptian Mau!

And then the little Havanna. I met this girl at Meet The Breeds in NYC. Such a talker, and so cute!

Then we saw a cute little Japanese bobtail! What an adorable breed; I've always thought they were so cool.

One thing about this show that was fun for me was running into some very nice people that I met at Meet The Breeds in NYC.
In the kitten class, I encountered an adorable little Manx boy that I met at MTB. His owner was also incredibly nice, and I love meeting people like that in the show hall!

Another breed I ran into that I remember from MTB was the gorgeous Norwegian Forest Cats. Their owner was so very kind as to let me take photographs of the lovely girls and I thank her so much for that! Again, another very nice and awesome person. :-)

And that concludes the picture taking I did at the Christmas City cat show! I thank the club for putting on such a wonderful show, the judges, my fellow exhibitors, and anyone who's ever been there in any way to support me in my endeavors. I've loved animals all my life, and cat showing is most certainly something I will be doing for many years to come.

In the future, I hope to make my cat show posts more in-depth and talk more about how shows work, and even the preparation we done before the show like grooming and such. Thank you so much to anyone who ever reads this - I love blogging about cats so very much.

Oh my, what has my mummy done to me?

She has me wearing a Santa hat and a read sweater - yikes! I did not like any of what was going on...

At least the sweater wasn't as bad as the hat...

And by the way... you all know that about a month or two ago I had some back problems. Mummy wants me to tell everyone that I been doing great, and she didn't notice nothing wrong with me anymore. Isn't that real good news? :-)

My Christmas Post

Well, I didn't get to make a Christmas post yesterday; I was away at the show all day and VERY tried when I came home, so I just went to sleep. I was at the Christmas City cat show.

However, tomorrow I will make it up by posting two Christmas posts.

This is my Christmas post, and though it isn't one of the Furrsonality gang, this beautiful little Abyssinian belongs to a friend of mine. His name is Achilles, and I took his picture at the cat show. Isn't he so adorable in his little jingle bells?
